Two business partners and real estate agents, David Parnes and James Harris, have made major strides since they departed from Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles. The show chronicles the professional and personal lives of realtors in the real estate industry as they sell high-profile homes to the wealthy.
The British-born Los Angeles transplants have sold multi-million dollar homes but also made a big change when they left working for Mauricio Umansky at The Agency. In mid-August, they shared that they are being named “Leaders of Influence” for a second time for their work in the real estate field.
Both agents took to their respective Instagram accounts to share the good news with their followers.
“We’re honored to be recognized as Los Angeles Business Journal 2024 Leaders of Influence for yet another year in a row,” they wrote in the post’s caption. “SO grateful as always for the opportunity to contribute to this dynamic and vibrant industry, and very excited for what’s to come for the rest of the year!”
The agents were recognized last year by the Los Angeles Business Journal as 2023 Leaders of Influence. Their 2023 profile read, “The partners’ ‘no-nonsense’ approach to closing deals has led to a steady incline in sales year over year, with over $2 billion in sales since 2017.”
The Leaders of Influence from the Los Angeles Business Journal has highlighted others in the field of real estate, including Ari Afshar, Cindy Ambuehl, Santiago Arana, Lori Berris, and others. This newfound honor can be added to James and David’s long list of accomplishments.
In February 2024, The Hollywood Reporter announced that James and David would partner with MDLLA cast member Josh Flagg to begin his roster of real-estate-focused Estate Media. Founded in 2023 by Josh, Girffin O’Brien, and Andrew Shanfeld, the company “brings together luxury real estate’s biggest personalities to deliver you content that entertains and informs.”
James and David were brought into Estate Media to develop original content while the media company oversaw the pair’s newsletter and podcast.
“Our goal from day one has always been to educate and inspire agents, and now with Estate Media, we have more opportunities to do just that,” they told The Hollywood Reporter at the time.
After appearing on MDLLA since the seventh season, the business partners revealed they would leave the show after season 13. They took to their Instagram accounts one at a time in April 2022, explaining that they were ready to move on.
“After seven amazing seasons, spanning over nine years, we feel the time has moved on and leave the show, which, in many ways, has defined us,” the agents wrote. “It’s a move that we have thought long and hard about, and we feel our business has evolved; we need to keep moving. We thank all our friends wholeheartedly and vow that we won’t stop because we can’t stop.”
David Parmes and James Harris also run the Bond Street Partners real estate business. Their website states, “[We] believe that our clients are the most important part of our business. We know that dealing with property means that we really deal with people.”
“To buy a home can be the most important life decision a person makes,” the about section on their website states, “and throughout the process, our primary focus. We combine a determination to fulfill their goals with the ability to hear what they say. Our aim is always to develop long-term relationships, and we offer an honest and transparent real estate service that best serves the interests of those we represent.”
With a collective 25 years of experience, their website states that they are the #2 team in the nation by Real Trends + Tom Ferry the Thousand 2023.
